Banana – a very good source of vitamin B6 and a good source of manganese, vitamin C, potassium, dietary fiber, potassium, biotin, and copper.

Dates – Medjool dates are one of the foods I like to call “nature’s candy.” They give a wonderful sweetness to recipes and since they contain a great source of fiber called beta-D-glucan, it helps to naturally decrease the bodies absorption of cholesterol. It also slows the absorption of glucose in the small intestines helping to keep blood sugar levels even.

Cinnamon – anti-microbial, stabilizes blood sugar and helps boost brain function just by smelling it!

Cinnamon Bun Smoothie

 

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana (add ice if your banana isn’t frozen)
  • 1.5 Tbsp natural nut butter (peanut, almond, cashew, etc)
  • 2 pitted dates
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 scoop plant protein  (or 1/3 cup hemp seeds)
  • 1.5-2 cups filtered water

Method

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until it reaches a smooth consistency. Enjoy immediately or pour into an airtight container to store in the fridge for later.
