Happy New Year, beautiful! Yep, I know I’m a little behind on this post but it’s only February so it counts, right? 😉 I want to share with you why I’m making 2016 all about self-care + why it’s not selfish! This post is especially for my mamas out there but these principles should be applied to everyone’s life.
So, what is self-care?
Let’s start with the basics.
Self-Care, simply put, is doing something for your own health and wellbeing. Anything from taking a few minutes to meditate to having a full-blown spa day and everything in between. Self-care is so important and often looked over – especially by moms.
We HAVE to take care of ourselves, ladies! It’s easy to get caught up in day-to-day life and become so concentrated on taking care of everyone else that our own health and happiness falls by the wayside.
Neglecting your own self-care will leave you exhausted, cranky, depressed and completely depleted. I know because I have been there!!! It sucks!! So what can we do to avoid this without feeling guilty or selfish?
First by changing your mindset.
Making your health and happiness a priority is NOT being selfish.
To feel happy and sane it is vital that you take time for yourself. How good of a wife or mom are you when you feel exhausted, moody, depleted and run down?? I’m not saying that you’re a bad mom or wife by any means but I bet you would enjoy it more if you got a moment to yourself every now and then. Right?
“Ok, so how do I begin a self-care practice?”
Oh, I’m so glad you asked.
I am teaching a virtual class this Thursday, February 11th at 8:00 PM Central called Self-Care 101: Simple Solutions for Feeling Vibrant, Happy & Sane… because we all feel a little crazy sometimes 😉
I hope to “see” you in the class!
psst… I’m doing a giveaway for those that sign up and if you can’t make it live I will email you the recording 😉
